Can you tell me more about the best ways to protect the mosaic to ensure durability?

Mosaic tile is inherently very durable, with high scratch and impact resistance. Artaic vitreous glass, sintered glass and glazed porcelain are all non-porous, so don't absorb water or contaminants into the surface. For a high wear and tear environment, you want to be sure to spec a high performance grout - non-porous so it also won't absorb staining. This combination of non-porous tile and grout will hold up very well to abuse. Optionally, you can also spec a surface anti-graffiti sealer, such as Laticrete STONETECH BulletProof Sealer. In projects that Artaic installes, we work with Laticrete, Mapei or Bostik to develop an installation materials specification that as a system offer a 25 year warranty.
