Will the tiles in my mosaic look perfectly uniform or will there be irregularity?
Learn about the natural variations in Artaic Vitreous Glass tiles and how they create a beautiful, hand-crafted look.
Artaic Vitreous Glass tiles are inspired by traditional Venetian glassmaking. Because we make them using a continuous molding process, individual tiles will naturally vary slightly in color, shape, and size. This unique, crafted look is completely normal and intentional. ✨
During installation, the goal is to achieve "regular irregularity"—an even, beautiful distribution of these natural variations across the entire mosaic. The finished piece should look like a cohesive work of art, without any single tile, gap, or sheet line distracting the eye.
Tips for a seamless finish:
- Expect changes during grouting: Minor tile variations will stand out more before you grout. Grouting softens the overall look and blends these small differences together.
- Make easy adjustments: If a tile looks noticeably out of place during installation, your installer can easily adjust it on the sheet, or cut the polymer backing to reposition it before the adhesive sets.
- Use the repair kit: We include a complimentary repair kit containing 1% loose tiles for every color in your design to help with any necessary adjustments.
